The Gig Club, an ongoing project conceived by South Sound Promotions, is dedicated to the goal of helping musicians empower themselves to make a fair living through their art. It starts with education, motivation, and deliberation to help build a healthy and self-sustaining music community. The more that community recognizes itself as a community, the healthier it becomes. The Gig Club has started with its Music Business Education Program. This program is successfully bringing music industry insiders face to face with local musicians in a relaxed and conversational environment. The program is also bringing local musicians face to face with each other. But the program is hardly an end in itself. It is the hope of the Gig Club and all of the hard working volunteers who bring the program to the South Sound Community each month that it provide fertile soil to grow this community. And from there, the possibilities are endless. |
