The
Midland Music Hall (MMH) was established in May of 2009 to nurture and grow the underserved music-arts community of Pierce County, though was short-lived due to
Pierce County Planning & Land Services claiming the parking lot that has been used for
the hall parking since it was built in 1918, is actually public right-of-way. MMH has been
told that unless it can secure off-premise parking within 300 feet, it will not be able to
serve as a performance venue.

The director of PALS, Chuck Kleeberg, and the Building Official, Gordon Aleshire, were wonderfully supportive in trying to help get the Hall approved for reopening, but
because Midland's downtown core was built in the early 1900's, and very little parking
is available, we were unable to secure the required off-premise parking.

In true community spirit, the Midland Music Hall was powered by volunteers and donations, and was supported by low-cost rental fees, and the retail sale of music memorabilia.
